gay Divorce comes with an extra tax: identity collapse, loss of friends and extended family, and loss of self-esteem
You are a gay man with a successful and meaningful career, and you just went through a breakup, or maybe you have everything you could dream of, except the relationship is meaningful, not just fun.
Or maybe you reach this point in your life where you simply don’t know what is next. A career or business that once felt safe and satisfying doesn’t bring you joy and fulfillment anymore.
Hi, I am Eugene Berezin, a registered Hypnotherapist in WA state (license # HYPN.HP.70073119), I spent a decade serving a diverse group of people as a psychotherapist with international experience, case manager, youth counselor, and social work professional.
In my private practice, I specialize in working with gay men who are in between spaces, those who are right after a divorce, or maybe you realized that you are ready for a change in your career or business. You’re welcome here!
WORKING TOGETHER.

THE CONSULT
Fifteen minutes. Free. No forms before the call. No pressure after it.
We talk about where you are, what is happening, and whether this is the right fit for what you are carrying right now. If it isn't, I will tell you. If a different provider or modality is the better call, I will refer.
ABOUT me.
I am Eugene Berezin, a Washington State Registered Hypnotherapist. I am a gay man. I am a Russian immigrant. I was trained as a clinical psychologist, graduated with a Master’s degree in Psychology from Moscow State Pedagogical University in Russia, and worked in mental health before building a decade-long tech career in the U.S. I went through my own divorce. I know what it is to be the gay man with the career, the credentials, and the inner life nobody is seeing.
Professionally, I have worked with individuals from LGBTQIA communities, individuals with disabilities, and those with chronic illnesses, the Deaf population, and made adaptations to techniques such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy in Russian Sign Language. Currently, I also have modifications to clinical hypnosis for American Sign Language.
Languages I can provide services in: English, Russian, American Sign Language, Russian Sign Language.
I work online with clients across the U.S. In Texas and Florida, where state law prevents me from offering hypnotherapy, I offer the same depth of work through personalized coaching built around the needs of gay men.
YOU'RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE IF…
You are the one who has it all together and…
You tried therapy, and maybe it didn’t work with you, especially if you are from a marginalized community (Black, Latinx, Immigrant, or a Person of Color). In my practice, I embrace cultural humility and a multicultural approach. Yes, you have a successful business or career, and yet, you feel the systemic pressure because the system is not built for you. If you struggled finding a therapist, coach, or a mentor who gets your experience or is willing to learn and listen, you are in the right place.
You are healing after a breakup or a divorce, and that is preventing you from living your life to the fullest in your career, business, or romantic life.
You are ready for something new in your life, and yet, you simply don’t know what it looks like. Maybe you’re ready to change your career or make a big pivot in your business.
You are sober-curious! Maybe you realize that going out every weekend doesn’t fit your health goals anymore, or maybe you are asking yourself, “Am I drinking too much?“. I got you!
Or you’re perfectly fine across the board, and you want to enhance your mental focus and performance.
Divorce and the end of long-term relationships. The receiver. The initiator. The fence-sitter. The man rebuilding on the other side. [Learn more →]
Identity and inner reconstruction. When a chapter of life ends — a marriage, a career, a version of yourself — and you do not know who you are without it.
The inner life of the high-functioning gay man. Carrying everything. Looking like you have it together. The hookups, the substance use, the workaholism, the relationships that don't quite fit, the partners who don't quite meet you.
If you are not sure which of these is yours, the consult is for figuring that out together.
Hypnotherapy for gay men
What Is Clinical Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a state of focused awareness. In that state, we go beneath the surface to the unconscious beliefs, stories, and patterns that are quietly running your life.
That's where the real work happens.
A few things worth knowing:
You are always in control. No one can make you do or believe something you're not willing to. Your subconscious mind is always alert, and it will simply reject any suggestion that doesn't feel right or safe for you.
This isn't stage hypnosis. You won't cluck like a chicken.
This is precise, focused inner work, and you're in the driver's seat the entire time.

A lot of my clients come to me to build healthy, joyous, fulfilled relationships with their significant others.
And when it comes to intimacy between two men, there is a very unique dynamic at play. Whether it's an age difference, a racial difference, an international relationship, or a relationship you're building after a major breakup or a major life change — these things require a very careful approach.
Hypnotherapy can help you unlock the parts of yourself that carry connectedness, calmness, creativity, and compassion. So you can see yourself and your partner as your true selves, and not through the lens of wounded parts.

Successful gay men in high demanding careers carry a very specific kind of stress. It's not just the job. It's being gay and visible in that job. And that stress doesn't stay at work. It spills into your romantic life, your relationships, your business, your health.
Hypnotherapy helps you identify exactly what's driving that stress and develop new coping mechanisms that actually work. Not just at the surface, but at the level where those patterns were formed.

Gay culture has a very specific relationship with body image. And it affects your self image, your confidence, your relationships, and how you move through the world.
Weight management in my work is not about getting six packs or hitting a number on a scale. It's about building a healthy self image and deciding for yourself what your standard is. What a good body and a good life looks like for you and your partner. Not what you see online or in adult entertainment.
Hypnotherapy can unlock the specific areas driving your relationship with your body, your self image, and help you build coping mechanisms that are actually yours.
-
Unlike any other group, gay men openly express their preference to not abide by heteronormative standards when it comes to building intimate relationships. Many gay men explore polyamorous and open relationships. And that comes with its own difficulties and tricky territory.
Hypnotherapy can help you approach those relationships from a place of connectedness, compassion, love, joy, and fulfillment. Because only when you operate from those qualities can you build something truly beautiful that fits your lifestyle, your preferences, and your partners.

Item dHypnosis has a very high success rate when it comes to skill enhancement and diving deeper into your capabilities as a human being.
For successful gay men in demanding careers, I offer unique methodologies including your own subconscious console. Gay men are not exempt from experiencing pain. And one of the least talked about qualities of hypnosis is how well it works for pain management.
I offer pain management hypnosis as a complementary treatment, always in collaboration with your physician. If you are under ongoing treatment for chronic pain, or dealing with minor aches and stiffness from injury or tension, hypnosis can be a powerful addition to your care. A doctor's note confirming it is appropriate for you to receive this work is required.
And more importantly, when we address pain, the subconscious mind often shows us what is underneath it.
