The panic attack came back. And you might be wondering what to do, and what the heck. You went to therapy, you did the self work, you did the deed, you did everything that you could possibly do. Now what?
When was the last time you went to therapy?
So, when was the last time you went to therapy?
Mental hygiene: quieter mornings, space in the evening
When was the last time you actually organized your day, when you had mental hygiene? For example, quieter mornings, slower mornings, or space in the evening before you go to bed.
When did you last tend to your spirit?
When was the last time you actually tended to your spirit? Not just to your body, but actually got involved in spiritual activity?
Executives, entrepreneurs, gay and bisexual men: lifestyle therapy
So if it came back, as executives, as entrepreneurs, especially as gay and bisexual men entrepreneurs, it's so essential for us to have mental health hygiene and have lifestyle therapy. And lifestyle therapy, hypnotherapy, can be your lifestyle therapy, can be your maintenance mode.
Mind, body and spirit need nurture
But our spiritual and mental bodies, our nervous system, our spirit, they need nurture. And if you're not nurturing your mental and spiritual body, your mind, body and spirit, then it gets dysregulated. And then, if you had a tendency for spirals, for panic attacks, for increased anxiety, for over-planning, over-functioning, it came back.
It came back, so: hygiene. Nothing is wrong with you
It came back. So: hygiene. And it's really, there's really nothing more to it. There's nothing wrong with you. You're not getting worse. Sometimes we get out of tune, and we need to tune in, tune back in.
Check it's not physical. Then check your life
So, obviously, as always, check if it is not physical, that it is indeed a panic attack, or just dysregulation. But also check in with what is going on with your life, right?
Relationship, business, finances, children, parents, grief
How's your relationship? How's your business doing? How are your finances? How are your children? How are your relationships with your parents? Have you experienced grief recently? All of it. All of it.
Maintenance is not therapy all the time
This is why, as executives and as leaders, as entrepreneurs, especially as gay and bisexual entrepreneurs, we need maintenance. We need lifestyle therapy, a hundred percent. And it doesn't mean that you're in therapy all the time. It means that your therapist, your hypnotherapist, are in your support circle. It is your support team.
High stress: not negotiable
I would highly advise it for everybody. But when you're operating in a high-stress environment, and business is a high-stress environment, you need that support. It is not negotiable. Because I have seen so many times when people ruin their mental health, their marriages, their relationships and their businesses because they're not taking care of their mental health.
Self-regulation is a must
And it's a must. Self-regulation, and the ability to self-regulate, is a must. Having a therapist, having a hypnotherapist, is a must for a business owner, in my opinion. Because we are dealing with an insane amount of responsibility. Insane. The same for private practice therapists, for medical doctors, for attorneys, for people in high-stress environments.
The hill I'm going to live and die on
This is the hill I'm going to live and die on. You have to have maintenance. You have to have lifestyle therapy, where it's a part of your support system.
Check in with your therapist. I'm accepting new clients
So that's it. Check in with your therapist. And if you don't have a therapist or hypnotherapist, I'm accepting new clients. Go to goodhypnotherapy.org, request your appointment, and we'll go from there. I will send you the link to book your first appointment after we all settle, and if it is a good fit, you will get your first appointment and start maintenance.
What you're going through is normal
I love you so much. And just so you know, what you're going through, it is completely normal. Life is life, and sometimes we need to fine-tune. So fine-tune. I'll see you in the next video. Bye, y'all.
